Indicators of Performance

Excellent = 10

Candidate possesses exceptional well-developed and relevant skills and abilities, and appropriate personal qualities in relation to the criterion and their performance is outstanding.

Is able to perform at a high level without direct supervision.  Has excellent job knowledge, is exceptionally reliable, has considerable demonstrated ability in desired skills, is able to instinctively and effectively deal with all matters relating to the position.
Very Good + = 9
Very Good   = 8
Very Good - = 7

Candidate possesses highly developed and relevant skills and abilities and demonstrates superior performance against most elements of the criterion, and meets expectations on the remaining elements of the criterion.

Would require little supervision to achieve quality results. Would be reliable, has well developed/sound job knowledge, is able to suggest and initiate improvements, is well able to deal with all routine and most complex matters relating to the position.

Good + = 6
Good    = 5
Good -  = 4

Would require routine supervision to perform at an acceptable level. Has reasonable/good job knowledge, makes few errors, is generally reliable, would require guidance for more complex situations, could carry responsibility but would not seek it, could deal with all routine matters involving the position.
Satisfactory + = 3
Satisfactory   = 2
Satisfactory - = 1

Candidate possesses some skills, abilities and personal qualities relevant to most elements of the criterion but is limited on other elements. 

Would be able to perform the duties of the position with close supervision, but would require further training and development to consistently meet the standard required against the criterion.  Only basic/general knowledge, could follow directions but would require frequent checking/follow up, could deal with most routine matters involving the position, possible inconsistent work performance.
Unsatisfactory = 0
Candidate is unable to demonstrate that he/she possesses the adequate skills, abilities and personal qualities in relation to the criterion.  Would not be suitable to perform the duties of the position relevant to this criterion.  Would be unable to perform the duties and would require constant supervision.
